Making hay while the sun shines

by Robert McHugh, on 12th May 2017.

article headline

It's that time of year again. The weather is getting better, the leaves are back on the trees, the kids will soon be off school and the phone in the office is ringing less and less because everyone is on holidays. That's right, it's summer time!

For those in the financial sector or, indeed any sector, the next few months will be quieter than usual. However, this is no time to sit idle. This is the perfect time to take stock and look at your company's strengths and weaknesses.

In particular, the summer downtime offers an ideal opportunity to look at your brand and how it engages with its audience. Does your website make an impact? How many visitors does it receive in a month? Is your content fresh and up to date? What is your SEO? Are you reaching your core target audience?

If you are struggling to answer these questions, Business World can help. We offer bespoke, tailored content to match your specifications and your brand. Our team write content that is fresh, engaging and informative.

Business World recently published an article on the most highly regarded organisations in the country. From looking down the list, they all had someting in common - great content. Organisations such as Tourism Ireland, Aer Lingus, An Post and Supervalu are constantly writing great content to engage and inform their audience.

Content creation is no longer a secondary consideration - it is vital. The proof is in the statistics. According to a 2015 IBM Digital Experience Survey, 56% of marketers believe that personalized content promotes higher engagement rates. Because personalized content helps consumers remember a brand, it also encourages them to engage more personally with the company in question, thus introducing a positive feedback loop that benefits both the customer and the company.

Furthermore, while content marketing requires an investment of time, money, and skill, it drives much higher conversion rates than its traditional marketing counterparts. Content marketing costs 62% less than outbound marketing but it generates more than three times as many leads according to Demand Metric.

Don't waste any more time. Contact Business World today and we can show you what we can do!

The business landscape in 2017

Written by Sim Pinder, on 27th Jan 2017

article headline

As businesses forge ahead through the New Year, many of us are looking back at a somewhat tumultuous trading atmosphere over the past few months.

The briefest glance at any business section of the press or online will show the numerous factors that shaped and re-shaped national and international business - primarily the ascension of Donald Trump to the White House and the ongoing Brexit saga.

As a leading supplier of written content to many companies in Ireland, Business World has positioned itself at the forefront of companies making the move to Dublin and more widely Ireland as a whole.

BREXIT

Aside from the UK itself, one of the countries with the biggest fallout from Brexit is Ireland. Ireland has close financial, economic and personal ties with its nearest neighbour – how the UK/Ireland relationship plays out over the next decade will be key to how Ireland grows across numerous levels.

Only this week, as reported on businessworld.ie, Taoiseach Enda Kenny has fired the starting pistol, for the first time openly courting global finance business to our shores- Kenny to openly court Brexit-hit businesses after tactical rethink’

From our point of view, new entrance businesses of the international class means that the local economy will become stronger with increased competition.

With increased competition, the small percentages can really make the difference. For example, Business World offer a portfolio of written products to some of the leading lights in the IFSC. We cover live, bespoke, news feeds, articles and editorials, blogs and other great content that can be shared across the multitudes of online social media. See how your company can benefit from our services here.

The Don

Not to be outdone by Brexit, or anything else by the look of it, Donald Trump has finally made his way up the White House steps to lead the free world.

Already courting controversy with his unguarded, unfiltered Twitter musings and muddying the waters of truth with an extended list of grey areas- tax status, numbers of people at his inauguration, a conflicting business empire etc.. The Don has parked the official book of guidelines on linear, coherent, official press releases as a coffee cup coaster and forged his own way.

The problem with this approach is that many companies are feeling the burn. One recent tweet picked up in the Guardian shows that Trump's tweet about Lockheed-Martin cuts $4bn in value as share prices fall. The cynical among us could say it was pre-planned, perhaps intended to get a better deal for the US.

Being on message was a key principle for Obama, this shift into the way President Trump and his cohort at the White House show speak to the public shows how valuable getting the correct message at the correct time can be to everyone- politicians, business and the public in general.

Planning

So from the looming spectres of both Donald Trump and Brexit we can clearly see that having the correct message across all platforms at the right time is fundamental to being taken seriously and professionally.

Business World offer market leading content creation, using a company such as ours should be part of your marketing plan for 2017. Don’t be left behind by Brexit, Trump and other shifting business landscapes. Let us take the pressure from you and your team. Get in touch today to see our portfolio of products and services.

Irish businesses embrace social media

Written by Sim Pinder, on 29th Dec 2016

article headline

The Central Statistics Office produced some interesting figures last week highlighting the growth in Irish enterprise’ engagement with social media platforms and paid advertising.

Figures show that in 2016, 67% of Irish enterprises employing 10 or more people used some type of social media such as Facebook, Twitter and YouTube compared with an EU-28 average of 45%.

In 2014, 60% of Irish enterprises used any social media, rising to 64% in 2015 - steady growth.

For a company such as Business World, these figures echo what we have found – a definite rise in corporate engagement with social media platforms.

Paid Advertising

The rise in social media use by Irish business has evidently gone hand in hand with the greater use of paid advertising for Irish business with 34% versus the EU average of 25%.

According to the figures, Irish companies advertise at a greater rate than the UK, where 28% of business payed to advertise on the Internet across 2016.

Trend

From these two groups of figures, we can see that social media and paid advertising is at the forefront of Irish businesses and their marketing portfolio.

From the point of view of a content creation business, such as Business World, we can see that many businesses are looking for content that can be used across multiple media - websites, paid advertising and social media platforms.

The problem for many businesses is that they either lack the ability, time or access to great written content.

Both inward investment and job announcements into Ireland are becoming more commonplace, particularly in the capital, as foreign companies set-up, expand and consolidate their positions.

In the past few weeks, we have witnessed a range of multinationals announce expansion plans which is a significant boost to indigenous companies that provide support services such as content creation.

Job announcements

LinkedIn - Business World covered the LinkedIn jobs announcement this week; "It was announced today that LinkedIn will be creating 200 new jobs at the company’s EMEA Headquarters in Dublin. The announcement comes ahead of the completion of LinkedIn’s EMEA HQ at Wilton Place with construction set to finish in 2017."

West Pharmaceuticals - similar to other multinational pharmaceuticals basing themselves in Ireland, US pharma company, West expanded operations in Ireland in November; "100 new jobs are to be added at West Pharmaceuticals in Dublin over the next five years, following a 60,000 sq. ft. expansion."

Irish services company Voxpro -  "Voxpro this week announced the creation of 400 new jobs and the launch of a new, state of the art Dublin office located in the Silicon Docks. This announcement will see Voxpro’s total number of jobs in Ireland grow to over 2,000 and 3,000 globally over the next 12-18 months, highlighting the rapid growth and expansion of the company which has grown fivefold over the last 3 years. The new office will be based in Dublin’s Point Village."

These are just some examples of the many companies that are making waves in Ireland and are remaining focused on their vision despite turbulent times.

Things to consider in the final quarter

Written by Sim Pinder, on 2nd Nov 2016.

article headline

Now that we are well into the final quarter of 2016, companies and businesses begin to take stock of what they have achieved throughout the year and what their strengths and weaknesses are.

For a company such as Business World, we like to take the time to evaluate what has worked effectively for both ourselves and for our clients.

During this time of the year we like to solidify our plan of action for the next year - what new clients will we target? How did our competitors fare and what are the trends, if any, in the content creation world?

For companies, getting the corporate message out in to the world is vital to growing or maintaining a business. It should absolutely be part of a future business plan and something that should be considered for the New Year.

Planning your corporate message

So at this crucial final quarter juncture, here as some key factors to consider when planning your corporate messages for next year;

Appropriate platform – For many businesses their own corporate website is ultimately the best platform. Have a strong message, maintain an up to date landing page and keep content fresh and appropriate. For social media platforms, Twitter and LinkedIn offer unique advantages which will drive visitors to your homepage. Platforms such as Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat might work for your business but remember who you are aiming your products at and choose the correct platform for this.

Correct tone – Who is your target audience? Millennials, tweenagers, mums & dads or perhaps a strictly corporate client base? Make sure your content is appropriate, on message and inclusive.

Frequency of postings – Again very much dependent on your client base. Blogs need to be frequently updated, never more than a month between postings. A rolling news service, something that Business Worldspecialises in, clearly needs to be updated through the day. So have a publishing plan and stick to it!

Content creation services – Many companies don’t have the time, expertise or inclination to keep their online platforms up to date with fresh content week in, week out – so why not take the strain away next year with a fully comprehensive content creation package from Business World. We offer articles, editorials, blogs and rolling newsfeeds that can be integrated into your website or social media platforms.

WHAT IS YOUR MESSAGE?

Written by Sim Pinder, on 12th Oct 2016. Posted in General

article headline

Business World is an Irish company creating written copy for a broad base of clients operating in the retail / banking landscape.

To support our briefs we like to try and understand how other professionals operate – how their corporate / governmental messages are communicated both at home and abroad?

If we look at the media at the moment we can see the seemingly never ending war of words between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump. It’s a never ending loop of politics with a sub heading of media and marketing.

So from a content creation context what can we take from the latest round of presidential debates?

Trump V Clinton

The presidential debates have tons of copy written about them, both by the impartial and the partisan. Typically everyone will want to try and gauge the outcome – who will win, who will benefit and what value that will have.

Looking briefly at Trump’s style versus Clinton’s we can see that Donald Trump doesn’t have a formal message as such; he reacts and attacks, whereas Clinton prepares and deflects.

In a business sense, both tactics have their positive and minus points; ideally a business should have a strong message, communicate it well and be prepared for numerous diverse situations that may arise.

Professional content creation

If you take a minute to look at ones own content - How you get your message across? What works in protectingyour brand, promoting your brand and getting your message out there?

Trump seems to throw enough rubbish out there for people to hang on to; a scattergun approach. This goes counter to every marketing manual out there which typically dictates a measured, direct approach.

It should be thoughtful and considered; too many business manage their online written content on the go and it shows.

Corporate Message

Generating and publishing your corporate message can be time consuming and a distraction. Here at Business World, we have supported many clients get their message across from market leading banks to state regulators to companies in their start-up phase.

We support these diverse companies with articles, editorials, news feeds, blogs and social media content. We provide an end-to-end service to take the pressure from you and your staff in order to write leading content regularly.

A PSYCHOLOGY OF BLOGGING

Written by John Compton, on 29th Jun 2016. Posted in General

article headline

Whether it’s creating content for the beauty business or business and finance, the stats are the bottom line. We need to know the value of our work.

From Business World to Beauty world we want to know the stats. How do they add up? Who is viewing? Where, when and why?

Answers

We need to be aware of these answers or else why blog content for your brand? Yes, to gain followers, to increase engagement but ultimately we want more customers.

So if we have all the relevant stats to hand, we can see what we are doing right and more importantly, where we are going wrong. From this information, we can choose the best course of action.

Stats and numbers may be considered boring but the facts are facts and need to be addressed to improve business.

Blog facts

HubSpot recently put together some facts on the key stats that are important, relevant and useful to your business.

B2B marketers get 67% more leads by using blogs

By prioritising blogging marketers are 13 times more likely to enjoy positive ROI

By 2020 85% of relationships will be without talking to a human

Companies who blog receive 97% more links to their website

Positive effect

To get these results the blogs must be of a good quality and frequently posted which will have a positive effect on your marketing efforts. It will also save you money an your PPC campaigns as you are generically increasing your SEO.

This in turn will increase your followers, gain credibility and increase generic leads. To be seen as a market leader would be great for business and regular blogging gaining regular readers will increase your readership.

Images

Make sure you have relevant images – images attract backlinks. Good design along with quality content will give the article more credibility and basically will look good and make readers what to stop and return. As you know, our attention span these days is not the best and the competition is high.

I read somewhere that size does matter. Blogs should be between 450 and 1500 words to reach Google or for Google to see you. Over 1500 attracts more backlinks. So keep this in mind when writing.

Blog post timing has importance too. Monday mornings is a great time to post blogs, maybe that’s because we are sluggish after the weekend and need to be entertained! If there is another reason behind this I will find it and come back to it! Thursdays are good too so I think I will research this properly and come back to you on the psychology behind the times to post – my next blog!

Ask questions and answer questions, promote engagement. This will increase interest and attract more readers to comment on your post, don’t you think?

We love to hear your feedback. Get in touch today.

Business World

Directing business to your site is the most important thing you can do online.  Whether you direct potential customers to your home page or a specific page on your site, your ‘landing page’ needs to be coherent, customer focused and commercial.

Business World supports a broad range of clients across numerous diverse sectors; retail finance, banking, FMCG, regulatory authorities and many more. We support these clients with various written content; blogs, news feed and editorials from our content creation Dublin base.

Driving people towards your landing page is fundamental to pushing your online offering, Business World have collated some tips to boost your landing page.

5 Key Landing Page Tips

The landing page is often the most important page on your website and as such should be the best that your budget / time can afford.

In a bid to help you get the best from your site Business World has compiled a list of 5 key landing page points to drive your online presence:

1. Your landing page should be the page that your blogssocial media and sales pitches lead to. It doesn’t necessarily need to be your home page; many landing pages are elsewhere on a website and are specifically used for conversion.

2. Keep the landing page uncluttered and focused, what are you trying to sell? What services do you provide? Make sure whatever you are offering is front and centre.

3. Content needs to be king; there are some great content marketing companies that can help you improve your written content – Business World for example! Your written content should match the tone of your products / customers.

4. A good opening offer – every one offers free trials or consultations; what can you offer a potential client that will induce them to take on your service or buy from you? How do you go beyond your competitor?

5. Large number of leads or fewer more high quality leads – pitch your landing page at the right level of engagement. Don’t ask for a stack of information in the first instance if it’s not necessary. A major turn off for the casual visitor is long forms to fill out. Requesting a name and an email address is usually enough if you are to include a contact box.

CONTENT MARKETING FOR LEADING BUSINESSES

Written by Sim Pinder, on 17th Jun 2016. Posted in General

article headline

Fundamental to any business’s online content is content marketing i.e. the production of well written, regularly updated, information with the aim of ultimately increasing sales opportunities.

Business World is a Dublin based content marketing company, supplying SEO rich written content for a broad range of clients.

Many companies today use content creation companies to assist in content marketing. Having professional marketers create content bespoke for your company is a simple and cost effective way of maximising your online offering.

Strong Content

Publishing strong customer focused content marketing shows any website visitor that your company understands the needs of the customer. This will drive sales.

In addition to looking great a strong, coherent, content marketing strategy can also contribute significantly to Search Engine Optimisation (SEO). By providing regularly updated blogs, news posts and articles. Search engine crawlers will react positively and push your website up the ranking pages.

What content?

Your online marketing content needs two fundamental aspects to succeed:

• Well written ‘valuable’ content – The content marketing sector has evolved from ‘keyword stuffing’ i.e. purely producing written content that is a vehicle for keywords. Any content marketing needs to be organically written and offer value to a reader – i.e. be of some interest or offer an insight -essentially be well written!

• Keywords – Ok, so avoid keyword stuffing but do remember to include relevant search terms in your regularly updated content. If you’re going to the effort of writing material you may as well use that content to get noticed by search engines – just don’t overdo it – ‘no to stuffing!’

Content Marketing

Content Marketing is increasingly seen as a positive way of advertising products, services and information. Thoughtful, interesting copy is increasingly seen as an alternative to pure advertising.

Pick a topic that you fundamentally understand and that relates to your primary areas of business. Then write some good content marketing that incorporates what your business sells.

Get that great content out there, engage with customers and you will see the benefits on your bottom line!

Content marketing, the basis of inbound marketing IS the new alternative to traditional marketing.

HOW WRITTEN CONTENT CAN BOOST YOUR ONLINE REACH

Written by Sim Pinder, on 13th Jun 2016. Posted in General

article headline

Many companies think of their online written content as an afterthought, often without a clearly defined publication schedule. This can negatively affect your online search engine optimisation.

Well written, regularly updated content is the key to driving engagement and climbing up search engine pages.

Here at Business World, we understand that getting well written SEO rich content on your website is fundamental to growth in today’s market.

Unfortunately many businesses either don’t have the time or skills to write great content for their enterprise websites. This is a major stumbling block. Employing a content creator such as Business World is a simple and effective way of getting well written, specialised content on your site.

When you have great content you need to share it. Two ways of doing this are via social media and other people’s websites.

Social Media

Sharing your content across your social media platforms is a great way to drive engagement, website visits and ultimately sales.

Obviously you’re the best in the market! But look at your rivals, both at home and abroad, see what they do with their social media. Factors to consider:

• Are updates made regularly? Very important for content marketing!

• Do updates include images / photos / videos – social media posts that include rich visual content are far more likely to be attractive to the casual viewer

• Does the tone suit your business – Tonality is very important. For example - are you a financial regulator? Fintech pioneer? Or a Local Bar? Shape your tone to reflect your business area. Focus on your customers

3rd Party Sites

Another great way to increase traffic to your website is by having links to your site from a 3rd party website. This can be done by:

• Writing a guest blog for a website – it’s gotta’ be good; SEO rich, relevant strong written content, strong marketing

• Write an editorial / article for a 3rd party website

• Advertising on a 3rd party website

• Writing about a 3rd party website on your own site as part of a reciprocal deal

Business World

Here at Business World, we can help your company / organisation deliver your corporate message with SEO rich content. We can direct your written content across blogs, news feeds and news articles. We have a wide range of experience across the financial, regulatory, commercial and industrial sectors.

We benefit from a team of journalists, writers and marketers that can shape your message via the content and deliver it across your online platforms. We are experts in creating content and getting it out there whilst at the same time improving your SEO scores.

LAUNCHING A NEW BUSINESS

Written by Sim Pinder, on 9th Jun 2016. Posted in General

article headline

When launching a new business there a few actions that need to be taken. Near the top of this list should be your online presence.

In this day and age your online presence must be clear, coherent and business orientated.

At Business World, we support a broad range of clients across diverse businesses arenas. We supply blogs, news feeds, editorials, articles and other written content to drive businesses forward.

Online presence

For some companies an online presence is an afterthought. Home pages that are hastily put together, dead links and uninspired text. Don’t fall into this trap. If you don’t have the time or skills in house speak to a professional content creator.

Business World can support your corporate message, educate the public in relation to your products and drive sales.

What do you want to say?

Fundamental to your online presence is the publication of your corporate message – what are your trying to say? What products or services are you aiming to sell?

Online content broadly falls into two categories:

Periodic Publications – Blog posts, articles and other fresh written content. These publications should follow a defined publication pattern to ensure maximum exposure. This content can be shared across all relevant social media platforms to reach the greatest audience.

These publications can be a great platform to show what services / products you sell, as well as driving customer engagement.

Periodic publications can be more lighter, broader and thought driven than the static content on your site.

Writing about your business arena is a great way to get into writing blogs. Discussing business ideas and markets can be a useful tool for your company to understand your sector and to show customers your market expertise.

Static content – Some content on your website will remain in situ for long periods of time particularly on your home page, contact page and others. This doesn’t mean that this content can’t be updated – in fact it should be, perhaps annually, to check that all details are correct and up to date. This content needs to be clear, well written and concise.

Truly engaging with customers or potential customers is often key to driving your business forward.

Here at Business World we have a successful track record of supporting our clients with SEO rich content on their websites and online platforms.

Well produced written content is the most tried and tested way of getting your message across to the customer.

Engagement drives sales!

When we talk about engagement with customers it is best to offer the broadest relevant channels at your disposal;

Blogs – Offering well written blogs about the subjects that you know most– your business and business area -is a great way of letting both customers and potential customers know about your products, services and expertise.

Here at Business World we offer content creation services which includes blogs, news feeds, articles etc. so we tend to write blogs that offer an opinion on the content creation sectors, mixed in with any other interesting relevant topics that come up.

News Feeds – Again blowing our own trumpet, as Business World supplies News Feeds to many of our clients – having a news feed that is tailored to your business sector or the interests of your customers can be a really innovative, unique way, of gaining exposure.

A professional News Feed can offer a truly authoritative feature to your home page and is something that is well worth considering.

Articles / Editorials – Writing authoratively about a subject relevant to your business in the form of an article or editorial is a useful exercise for any company. Sharing business insights and inside knowledge is a great way to keep people coming back to your site.

Updating your website regularly is also a great way to advertise your products and keep your customers informed. This can be done by adding content via Articles / Editorials, not solely by generic product updates.

Social media tie-ups

It is crucial that any written content added to your website (Blogs / News-feeds / Articles) is shared across your social media platforms.

Depending on your business area the key social media platforms according to our previous Business World blog, are Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and Google+.

So make sure that you post all new content across your social media platforms; follow best practice rules for each platform and don’t leave gaps of days/months between posts!

Here at Business World, we produce well written blogs, articles and news feeds for a broad range of clients – we supply content for your website and social media platforms.

So now you’ve got great content with rich SEO qualities, you now want to drive visitors towards your site.

Your written content needs a greater audience! A key driver of visitors to your site is from social media platforms.

The key platforms and their suitability to your company are highlighted below:

Twitter – The king of micro blogging sites, suitable for most forms of business from MNC banking organisations to the local bar. Also a great platform for the personal, from the US president to you!

Due to the fast moving pace of the twitter timeline your content can often be posted again the same day, the following day and the next week / month also.

Facebook – Perhaps not a particularly suitable platform for the ‘harder’ end of business. That said Facebook has successfully been deployed as an interactive customer service portal for companies that deal with the general public. Facebook is very much a useful tool for most business to get their corporate message across to potential customers.

LinkedIn – Very business orientated. Content can be shared as an ‘update’ as well as across groups. Your content can be re-shared to some degree across busier groups or pages. LinkedIn is a very useful platform for business content.

Google+- Some companies swear by Google+ and rank it alongside Facebook and Twi
